An Australian man who jumped over a barricade and touched actress Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

The individual, aged 26, was sentenced to more than a week in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," Singaporean immigration authorities stated to local media.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the incident to NBC, remarking that she "just wanted to verify my friend was safe."

"I'm sure he didn't intend us danger, but you never know with those things, and I sought to confirm that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she commented.
